Yorkshire 3 Peaks

The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge is a 24 mile circular walk which encompasses three major peaks in the Yorkshire Dales.

Pen-Y-Ghent-height 694m

Whernside-height 736m

Ingleborough height 723m, the best-known hills in the area.

We will:

Depart 7:00 from Cardigan community centre 145-149 Cardigan road Burley Leeds LS6 1LJ

Arrive 8:30 Horton in Ribblesdale and start walking prompt, the walk will take between 9–12 hours.

Support vehicles will be available for walkers and will be waiting at the Ribblehead viaduct around 3 hours into the walk. This will be a short break for refreshments, snacks and to freshen those feet, change of socks, apply plasters if needed.

Walkers will at this stage have already summited Pen-y-ghent

The second and final checkpoint, with refreshments, snacks and change of socks, fresh plasters if needed, will be at the Old Hill Inn, some 3–4 hours later after summiting Whernside.

This will be the last chance for walkers to drop out.

Take a look at photos from last year, all 3 peaks completed by 12 Uni students, some had never done anything like it before, but all shared what a great day they had.

“Thank you so much for organising such a brilliant day yesterday. I feel a real sense of achievement today, although I am taking the day rather slowly” - Antonia
